Historical cities and the magic of the Silk Road
From modern travel to ancient culture
Uzbekistan was the third country we visited with our own campervan in Central Asia. After rugged Tajikistan, this was a big contrast: Uzbekistan is more modern, has many large cities and is well equipped for tourism. The country is best known for the beautifully restored cities along the Old Silk Road, where history and culture are visible everywhere.
