Roadtrips full of freedom and adventure

The most beautiful routes for your next trip

When we were young, we used to get in the car for roadtrips with our parents, in Europe and beyond. We mostly enjoyed the lesser known places: villages, mountains, coastal roads… The places where you experience real life.

That love for being on the road has never disappeared. Nowadays, we go out on our own. Sometimes we fly to a destination and discover the country with a rental car. Or we choose the train for within Europe, for example with Interrail. Other times we travel with our own campervan. Whether it’s a week, month or more: being on the road gives us the ultimate sense of freedom.

On this page we share our favourite itineraries: from short roadtrips to extensive routes through multiple countries. With practical tips, places to stay and everything we would have liked to know before departure.

Roadtrips in numbers

Whether we drive our campervan through the mountains or discover hidden coastal roads with a rental car. Being on the road remains the most beautiful way of traveling for us. You see more, you come to places where others pass by and you determine your own pace.

From short trips to months of wandering: in these routes you will find the freedom that makes travelling so special.

FAQ about roadtrips

First think about where you want to go and what you want to see. Find nice places, such as villages, nature or sights. Make sure you don’t drive too many kilometers a day, then you also have time to enjoy.
It depends on. In high season or popular areas, it is smart to book in advance. But if you are flexible, you can also spontaneously find a place to sleep along the way.
Take breaks to stop and explore the area. Listen to music, podcasts or audiobooks. And alternate driving with your travel companion if possible.
Think of clothes for different weather conditions, food and drinks, a good map or GPS, and of course your camera to capture beautiful moments.
Check out travelblogs, local websites and maps. Also ask tips from people who live nearby. These are often the places where you experience the real atmosphere.
