From impressive fjords to colorful cities

Norway: a country full of nature, peace and unforgettable views

Norway is a country full of beautiful nature and breathtaking fjords for us. After Tessa had been an Erasmus student in Copenhagen for six months, we decided to continue traveling through Scandinavia together. Norway should of course not be missing from this. We travelled through the landscape by train, discovered lively cities and were always surprised by the impressive vistas. Norway feels like a place where you can feel small in the greatness of nature.

Information about Norway

Norway is known for its impressive fjords, high mountains, waterfalls and vast nature. The country runs from lively Oslo to the rugged North Cape, where you can see the Northern Lights or the midnight sun. Norway is also the country of reindeer, wooden houses and a strong outdoor culture. Thanks to the good public transport and the peace that can be felt everywhere, it is an ideal country for nature lovers and adventurers.

FAQ about Norway

We found summer ideal because of the long daylight and mild temperatures. But autumn and winter also have their charm, especially if you want to see the Northern Lights or love winter activities.
Many people choose to travel through Norway with the (rental) car themselves, mainly because of the freedom to stop where you want. We also thought the train was a good option: reliable, comfortable and with beautiful routes through the landscape. Public transport is very well organised here, making it easy to travel between cities and nature reserves.
Bergen and Stavanger are our favourites because of the atmosphere and the nice sights. Oslo is also recommended if you are close to Sweden.
Norway is more expensive than the Netherlands, especially in cities. We chose self-catering when possible and budget-friendly accommodations to keep it affordable.
The atmosphere in Norway is calm, friendly and level-headed. Norwegians are hospitable, love nature and live at a relaxed pace. You can feel the space and tranquility of the landscape everywhere.
